Juan Gonzalo de Angel Restrepo has held responsibilities as President and Chief Executive Officer of Global Media Telecomunicaciones, S.A., since 2007. In this capacity, Mr. de Angel focuses on creating cable television channels with presences in 26 six countries through Latin America and Spain. His current four channels include the agricultural sector–focused TVAgro and the news-centered Cablenoticias. Mr. de Angel earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at the Universidad Nacional in Colombia and then accepted a position with the financial services firm Zurbarán, S.A. Working in advisory capacities with the company, he helped establish new markets throughout Northern South America. Juan Gonzalo de Angel Restrepo subsequently served as Chief Financial Officer with Colcereal, S.A. From 1983 to 1991, he then founded Makrómputo, S.A., in which he led corporate expansion into new Latin American markets, becoming the largest Microsoft distributor in Latin America, the company was sold to Mexican multinational named Dataflux in 1997. In 1998 started in Cable Tv business becoming partner of small cable company named “Cablesistemas SA” and then in 2001, Mr. De angel Restrepo founded Cablepacífico, S.A., which has become the leading CableTV services provider in Colombia and the fourth-largest provider in South America. He notably drove corporate growth through the development of fiber optic capacities in northeastern Colombia, his company was sold in 2007 to Carlos Slim from Mexico. In 2007 with a partnership with Mr Slim he founded Global Media Telecommunications, Juan Gonzalo de Angel Restrepo leads a firm that achieved a presence in all Spanish spoken countries with more than one thousand CableTV companies in its customer portfolio. He was instrumental in the establishment of Cablenoticias, the first provider of 24-hour news in Latin America. And Tvagro a 24-hour agricultural channel, In 2010 Cablenoticias was sold to Venezuelan media group Globovisión, and Mr de Angel continue until today expanding Tvagro.
